Barking Gecko - UNDERWOODISAURUS MILLI

Also referred to as the Thick Tailed Gecko, this gecko occupies various habitats including shrublands and rock outcrops ranging from Queensland through to northern WA. Original tail is carrot shaped black with 5-6 white bands. The regenrated tail is heart shaped with little pattern. Pink to purplish brown with many cream to yellow spots, each centred on a tubercle.

The Bobtail is a large lizard (30-35 cm) with a heavily armored body and can be found in various colors ranging from dark brown to cream. The Bobtail has a short, stumpy tail, and moves rather slowly. Male and female Bobtails stay together for about eight weeks during the breeding season, then separate. They sometimes reunite the following year. The female produces live young, one or two at a time.

Northern Spiney Tailed Gecko - STROPHRUS CILIARIS

The two most common color morphs of this species are red and gray, but there are many other variations in color and pattern. Spiny-tailed geckos have a few supraciliaries above each eye and two rows of spines down the tail. In general, Strophurus c. ciliaris is considered an arboreal species, but many specimens have been encountered on the ground in search of prey. They tend do be more abundant in areas with heavy summer rainfall.
