Northern Spiney Tailed Gecko - STROPHRUS CILIARIS CATEGORY 2 The two most common color morphs of this species are red and gray, but there are many other variations in color and pattern. Spiny-tailed geckos have a few supraciliaries above each eye and two rows of spines down the tail. In general, Strophurus c. ciliaris is considered an arboreal species, but many specimens have been encountered on the ground in search of prey. They tend do be more abundant in areas with heavy summer rainfall. |
